Biography
Lorie Palmer joined PSB BOISJOLI over 15 years ago as an intern while she was still completing her studies. She began her career in audit and assurance services where she served as a manager for six years. During this time, she managed countless audit mandates for companies and organisations from a wide range of industries such as non-profit organisations, charitable groups and professional orders. She also worked with a number of companies from the investment sector, including private mutual fund trusts.
Over the course of her career, Lorie has completed training in internal control and internal auditing, eventually receiving her Certified Internal Auditor designation (CIA). She has participated in numerous mandates assessing internal control and internal auditing, most of which were issued by para-governmental and private sector businesses, as well as non-profit organisations. Lorie also has a wealth of experience in investigative and forensic accounting as well as writing expert reports.
Since 2011, Lorie has gained extensive expertise in commodity tax and now manages our firm’s specialised services in this area.
Her professionalism and hard work earned Lorie partner status in 2017.
Drawing on her vast experience and knowledge of the sales tax laws, Lorie assists our clients with all aspects of Canadian commodity tax compliance. Whether she is providing tax advice or negotiating with the tax authorities, Lorie remains passionately devoted to defending her clients’ best interests.
